Game #4: San Antonio Spurs 116, Memphis Grizzlies 95

The Memphis Grizzlies played no D today at home and it ended their season, as the Spurs shot 50% from the floor and 45.5% from three point range!  Lance Stephenson led the way for the Grizzlies today with 26 points, 1 rebound and 3 assists in 35 minutes off the bench.  Zach Randolph (15 points and 7 rebounds) and Matt Barnes (15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in 45 minutes) also played hard today.  Vince Carter pitched in with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  So the Grizzlies were swept in four games by the vastly superior San Antonio Spurs, but it was impressive to me that they even made the playoffs due to the rash of injuries to big time players on their team!

I can’t sugarcoat this…..the Memphis Grizzlies sucked tonight!  They shot 32.6% from the floor, 14.3% from three point range and 55.6% from the free throw line tonight……which is pathetic!  Tony Allen led the way for the Grizzlies with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in 21 minutes off the bench.  Zach Randolph had 11 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 30 minutes on the floor, but he only shot 5 of 17 from the floor!  Matt Barnes pitched in with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 30 minutes on the floor.  But, he only shot 3 of 11 from the floor and 1 of 4 from three point range!  The Grizzlies are now down 2-0 to the Spurs as the series shifts to Memphis.

The short handed Memphis Grizzlies never had a shot last night in San Antonio!  The Grizzlies only shot 39.2% from the floor and they were not aggressive, as they only attempted six free throws in this game!  The Grizzlies were out-rebounded 44-35 and they played no D as the Spurs shot 51.9% from the floor and 43.5% from three point range last night!  Ancient Vince Carter led the way for the Grizzlies last night with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot in only 19 minutes on the floor.  Lance Stephenson pitched in with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 19 minutes on the court.  Carter and Stephenson were the only two Grizzlies’ players to score more than 7 points last night, and that it pathetic!  The Grizzlies are now down 1-0 to the Spurs in this series.
