The Grizzlies aren’t a very deep team, but they have a rock solid starting five. Not too many teams can match a front court of Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. Lionel Hollins does a good job of motivating his team and his strategic moves in game really boosted the Grizzlies last year. I would make a small bet on the over for Grizzlies’ wins in 2012-13.
The Grizzlies were 40-42 last season and they have added some talent to the bench while keeping the starters together for another year. I see the Grizzlies as a team on the rise and I think they will make the playoffs out West this year. With that in mind I would definitely take the over as far as wins go in 2010-11. I still wouldn’t bet on the Grizzlies to win the NBA Championship even though they are 125-1 to do it.
This is such a low number that I think I’ll be running to the sportsbook to make a bet on it. The Grizzlies have a good young basketball team and they added offensive firepower in the off-season with the additions of Zach Randolph and Allen Iverson. The draft also brought in a lot of talent in Hasheem Thabeet, DeMarre Carroll and Sam Young. The Grizzlies are a team on the rise and I’m thinking they will be around .500 this season so take the over and then take the money to the bank.
